WELDING ASSISTANT

MIG welding is blocked for Chromoly due to structural cracking risks. Wire-feed welding cools too quickly, creating brittle joints prone to snapping under sudden loads.

• Standard Path: Switch your process selection to TIG Welding to continue.
• MIG Exception: Talk to a supervisor if you believe your specific use case requires a MIG override.

• General Wear: Safety glasses, long pants or jeans, and closed-toe/heel shoes (leather shoes recommended). Non-flammable clothing is highly recommended.

• Welding Gear: Helmet, welding jacket, and gloves are required when welding.

• Remove: Jewelry, watches, and lanyards.

• Secure or Remove: Loose clothing.

• Secure: Tuck in hoodie strings, roll sleeves up, and tie back long hair and beards.

• Booth: Keep curtains closed. Position weld fume hood over work piece and turn on the exhaust fan. No flammable material in work area. Two trained welders are required in the booth.
